Passed peacefully away at home on April 21st, 2018 surrounded by his loving and devoted family, Leonard Ward of Freshwater Placentia, formerly of South East Bight, at the age of 68.

 

Predeceased by parents Thomas and Margaret Ward, brothers Anthony and Isadore, sister-in law Theresa Ward and In-laws Benedict and Mary Hann.

 

Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 41 years Bertha Ward (nee Hann), son Darcy (Megan), grandchildren Sydney and Bene; brothers Johnny (Rita), Peter (Lucy), Tom (Joanne); sisters Mary (Kevin), Eileen (Doug); brother-in law John Hann (Marg); sister-in law Sandra Ward; good friends Arch Barron (Mercedes Follett) and Francis Duke (Carmel); his special fur baby Oreo and a large circle of loving nieces, nephews and extended family.  Your visits, messages and calls are appreciated beyond words. Thank you for your love and kindness.

 

A very special thanks to Dr. Mangat (Mr.) and Kelly Culleton for the visits, compassion and exceptional care they showed Leonard over the last few weeks. Also a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gardner and the doctors, nurses, staff, at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre over the past year. 

 

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher’s Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation to take place Sunday from 7-9 pm and Monday from 2-5 pmand 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place 10:30 am on Tuesday April 24th at Holy Rosary Church Freshwater. Interment to follow at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia.
