December 6, 1965 – January 22, 2019

Passed peacefully away after a brief illness surrounded by family and friends.

Leaving to mourn her devoted husband James Moore, her pride and joy - children Oliver and Jamie, sisters, Sylvia (Frank,) Daphne (Daryl,) and Yvonne, brothers Clancy (Diane,) Jim (Sheila,) Donny  (Geraldine,) Wilf (Mary,) Clayton, Kevin (Shirley), Bren, Keith (Michelle,) mother-in-law Shirley Vick (Roger) and brothers in law Ron (Pauline,) Bob (Monica,) sister-in-law Susan (Robert)  Also leaving to mourn are many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, a huge circle of friends and her dog Eddie. Freda is pre-deceased by her parents Fred and Helen (Collins) Lannon and father-in-law Robert Moore

Freda was born and raised in Southeast Placentia Newfoundland and remained a proud Newfoundlander true to her roots with many trips back home. Though she travelled the world over, Placentia was never far from her heart.

Freda was fearless and always up for a new challenge. A musician, scuba diver, adventurer, business owner, confidant, volunteer and avid traveller, Freda never stopped to "let the grass grow beneath her feet." Her favourite moments included singing with her family and friends later becoming the lead vocals for the Flies in the Butter Band.

Freda squeezed a whole lifetime into her 53 years and earned the love of multitudes of people across several continents. As world traveller, she worked tirelessly to ensure her children Jamie and Oliver, would have the opportunities to see the world in a way most children cannot.  Her gift to them was to provide every opportunity for them to grow and reach their potential.  Her proudest role and the one she wishes to be remembered by was that of Mother.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher’s Funeral Home.

The family invites relatives and friends to join them at a graveside service at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Placentia on Saturday, August 3 at 12:00 followed by a celebration of Freda’s life at Star of Sea Hall.
