Passed away on 23 March 2021, Charlie Hickey, age 79, of Southern Harbour, formerly of Glendon’s Cove, Bar Haven Island.

He is predeceased by his partner Nellie Wadman, his parents, Lawrence and Margaret (Cheeseman) Hickey and his brother Urban.

Leaving to mourn: his sisters Josephine (Peter), Lucy (Roland), his step children Glenn (Rita), Valerie and Barry (Pauline), special nephew Dexter, nieces and nephews and many friends.

Charlie was a fisherman, each year he would return to Glendon’s Cove to fish for lobster and cod. He had a wealth of knowledge  of the people and history of Bar Haven Island and of the surrounding islands in Placentia Bay. Charlie was always keen  to share stories of the Island’s past.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia.  Service to take place at a later date.  

He has set his last lobster pot and is now steaming home to restful waters.

Charlie, you will be greatly missed.
