It’s with broken hearts, the family of Nellie Murphy announce her passing at her home on June 22, 2021 age 67 years old. She left our world on the sunniest day surrounded by much love, and unprecedented strength.
Predeceased by her parents Maggie and Ronnie Hefferan, brother Edmund, In-laws Maurice & Theresa Murphy, brother in law Lar Walsh & nephew Johnny. She will be forever more missed by her husband Billy of 39 years, who loved deeply in sickness and in health. Her 3 biggest accomplishments and loves of her life, her children, Paula (Curtis Butt), Billy, & Tracy (Terry Whyte).
Nellie prided herself in her 4 grandchildren who
made up the entirety of her world.
Ty and Drew Picco, Jillian and Brody Whyte were her
biggest blessings and nothing was spared when Nanny Murphy was around.
Denielle O’Reilly (Grayson), Keisha & Terri White
were equally as loved.
Nellie shared a remarkable bond with each and every one of her siblings. Their many family occasions, bingo nights, road trips, and constant presence during her illness attest to their love for one another. Albert (Nellie), Jim, Bride, Linda Walsh (Wayne), Jenny O’Keefe (Fred), Betty O’Reilly (Ronald), Ronnie (Mary), Margie Cooper (Bob), Tommy (Mona), Mary O’Reilly (Danny) who surpassed the true meaning of family and family support.
The Murphy family, Maurice (Neil), Marie Dymond (Gary), Annmarie Whelan (Mike), Patricia (Nigel).
Children brought much laughter and joy to her life and she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, godchildren, great nieces, nephews and family friends.
Nellie served many drinks, heard many stories and was a listening ear for her patrons throughout her life as a bartender. She was a very proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion branch 33. Her unselfish contribution to the organization was very recognizable and was awarded many accolades for her voluntarism.
Her love for life, travel, and endless shopping set the course for her strong vibrance and her kind, generous nature was conveyed to anyone in her presence. Her home was always open to host any occasion and no event went uncelebrated.
Although we wish that so much of her life had not been lost to cancer, her family and friends kept her pushing through and cancer did not dictate her life. She lived life to the fullest! Her faith always remained strong and she has left the legacy of her love and perseverance in return.
While her many close friends, nieces, nephews and
family will miss her terribly, we ask you keep her memories alive by
sharing them with one another.
Our
family welcome your prayers and presence as we know our loss is deeply
felt by all who knew her.
