The family of Mary Donnelly Power of Dunville, Placentia sadly announced her sudden passing on July 11, 2021 at the age of 82. Predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Dick in November 2020, her parents Paul and Rita Donnelly, Brothers Brian and Paul, sisters Marie and Helen, granddaughter Catherine Parsons and sister-in-law Mary Vaughn.

Leaving to mourn: her daughter Lorraine (Fred) Parsons, son Ed, sisters Rita (Alan), Regina (Brad), brothers Pat (Jane), Tom (Shirley), Bernard (Jeanne), and Dan (Colleen); grandchildren Sarah Parsons (with whom she shared birthdays), Carlee and Natalie Power, and great grandchildren Charlotte and Olivia Parsons, who were the center of her world and called her Grandma; sisters-in-law Anne Gesiakiowski and Nora Black and brother-in-law John (Theresa) Power. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews as well as cousins galore!

"Med" as she was commonly known was the oldest of eleven children and due to tragic events; became the matriarch to her siblings. With her caring husband Dick they loved, cared for and successfully raised her brothers and sisters along with their own children.

Mary took great joy in being involved in every aspect of her community: PTA, Girl Guides, Castle Hill Historical Society, Women's Institute, Freshwater Quilter Guild, Dildo Quilters Guild, to name a few.  She had a beautiful voice which she loved to share.

As she selflessly cared for her ailing husband in recent years; Mary continued to meet every challenge in her life, always with grace and quiet dignity.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher’s Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation to take place on Friday, July 16th, from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. Funeral service for Mary Power and Dick Power to take place on Saturday, July 17th, at 10.30 a.m. at St. Anne’s Church, Dunville.

Those we love

Don’t go away.

They walk beside us every day.

Unseen, Unheard

But always near,

So loved, so missed

So very dear.
