It is with deep sorrow that we announce Christina (Mary) King (Fox Harbour, Placentia Bay), passed peacefully away on March 28th, 2023, at the Lion’s Manor Long Term Care.

Predeceased by her husbands, John Lawrence Kelly (Long Harbour) & Gerald Michael King; loving daughters, Yvonne and Anita Julie; daughter-in-law, May; and parents, Michael & Elizabeth Reddy (Red Island, Placentia Bay).

Leaving to mourn her children: Tony (Geraldine) Kelly, Terry, Juanita (Alan), Gerry (Diane), Trevor (Gillian); son-in-law Tony Kassam; 19 grandchildren (Christopher, Chantelle, Ian, Shannon, Eugene, Gregory, Kirk, Aaron, Jeffrey, Curtis, Holly, Theresa, Tyler, Noah, Jacob, Adam, Marcus, Emma, Liam); 12 great grandchildren (Hunter, Mycah, Malia, Evelyn, Emmitt, Jackson, Kayden, Henry, Levi, Elijah, Lilly, and Sapphira); Special mention of sister-in-law Ellen, brother-in-law Leonard, and niece Glenda; as well as to a large circle of family and friends. In addition, sincere thanks to the entire staff of the Lion’s Manor /Placentia Health Clinic, whose care and dedication was second to none and will forever be appreciated.

Christina was a vibrant individual who lit up every room she entered. A gentle woman with an indominable spirit, determined throughout her life to attain her goals. As a graduate of Memorial University, she worked hard to obtain her education while raising a young family alongside her dedicated husband of 53 years, Gerald. She was deeply devoted to both her family and her faith, and her life was guided by her strong values, values which will live on through her children.

After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s, Christina Mary will finally enjoy the eternal rest she so deserves.

Resting at Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation on Friday, March 31st, from 2pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm, and Saturday, April 1st starting at 9am. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Rosary Church in Freshwater on Saturday, April 1st at 12pm, followed by interment at Fox Harbour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Rest In Peace Mom,

Love Always,

Tony, Terry, Juanita, Gerry & Trevor
