Passed away at the Lions Manor Nursing Home, Placentia on May 10, 2023, Ellen Theresa Cheeseman of Jerseyside, at the age of 91 years. Ellen was originally from Rushoon, born on October 5, 1931 in the first house that was built on the water.
She is predeceased by her husband Leonard Joseph Cheeseman, daughter Maureen, son Chick, parents Herbert and Sarah Whiffen, sisters Gladys and Jessie, and brother Charlie.
Leaving to mourn are her daughters Gladys (Thomas), Bertha, Millie, Patsy, Marilyn, Sarah (Wayne), and Francine; sons Charlie (Louise), Leonard, Herbert (Diane), Ben (Renee), Jimmy (Helen), Paddy (Linda), and Warren (Anne); 48 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; sisters Ann, Sadie, Mary and Dorothy; brothers Herbert and Greg; as well as many nieces, nephews other family members and friends.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher’s Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 12th from 2pm to 4pm & 6pm to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, May 13th at St. Anne’s Church, Dunville, followed by interment at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Placentia.
