Passed away suddenly at his home in Dunville on April 8, 2024, Gordon James Horlick at the age of 84.
Predeceased by his parents Doris and Cecil Horlick; brother Terry; mother-in-law Annie Pritchett (nee Parsons); father-in-law Augustus Pritchett; as well as many beloved members of the Horlick and Pritchett families.

Leaving to mourn his beloved wife of 58 years, Beulah (nee Pritchett); daughters Debbie (Tony) Manning and Dana (Deano) Dray; son Don (Diane); brothers Thomas, Wilmore (Marjorie), Lloyd (Doreen), Dennis (Paula), and Larry (Isabel); grandchildren Justin (Rebecca), Liam, Jenna, Kira and Logan; great grandson Karson; as well as many close nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends.

Gordon (Gord) was a journeyman millwright during his working career and worked in many areas of our Province but spent the majority of his working life in Long Harbour as a Plant Mechanic for ERCO. He would relish in sharing his tales of the men he met during his working life and cherished these friendships. He was a fixer  and a tinkerer who could repair anything he could lay his hands on. The benefactor of his mending skills ofter heard "no charge this time" once the repair was complete. An avid wood cutter, hunter, salmon fisherman and berry picker during his younger years, he spent many a trip in the "country" and loved the outdoors. He maintained a backyard garden growing vegetables that was the envy of anyone who visited. In his later years, he found music and cherished his time every Tuesday practicing his accordian, playing with his friends involved with the "Music & Friends" group. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Special thanks to the staff of Power’s Ambulance Service, especially Taeler and Keisha, for their professionalism and compassion during a very difficult time for the Horlick family.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Maher’s Funeral Home, Placentia. Flowers will be gratefully accepted. Visitation to take place on Friday (April 12) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
