With
sorrow, the family of Kyran Gambin, age 83, announces the passing of
our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and
uncle. He passed away at Placentia Lions, where he resided since
December 2023.
Predeceased
by his wife Madeline (nee Murray), parents John and Jane Gambin,
infant sister Francis, brother Pad, sister Winnie, &
brothers-in-law John (Ryan) and Garfield Pitcher, parents-in-law, Jane
and William Murray, as well as family in-laws and friends Donny and
Janette King, Ron Spurvey, James Duke, Leo Duke and Dave
Spurvey.
Left with a lifetime of love, memories, and strong family
ties are his children: Robert (Pearl), Ross (Stephanie), Jane
(Rodney), Maggie (Justin); beloved grandchildren: Kayla (Shane),
John-Thomas (Carlee), Mackenzie (Chase), Taylor (Noah), Blake
(Skakira), Mitchel, Faith, and Brooklyn; and cherished
great-grandchildren: Thomas, Jack, and Kelli. We hope they will grow
up knowing how much children meant to him and Mom.
Bertha Pitcher, the youngest of the 4 siblings, has been a
constant and valuable presence during Dad’s illness. Without
her support, care, and loving watch, we would have been lost. Also
surviving are his sisters and brothers-in-law: Marina, Gert, Laura,
Ethel, Mag, Ann (Anslem), Marian (Joe), Jean, and Mike
(Kitt).
Dad was blessed to have shared the last few years with his
dear friend, Lena Moore. We could never express how fortunate Dad was
to have met Lena. Our family will be forever grateful for the years
Dad had with you and for the love you brought to him and our entire
family.
In addition to the family and friends that are left behind
we would like to acknowledge others who have helped care for Dad
during his illness. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Lisa
King, his home support worker for over 2 years, for her kindness and
devotion to Dad. We are also deeply grateful to the staff and
residents of Beachside Manor and Lions Manor, where he resided
respectively, for the last 2½ years. Their care, kindness,
and compassion meant a great deal to Dad and to our
family.
Dementia, along with other underlying illnesses, robbed our
father of the ability to live the last few years as the strong,
independent, and active man he was. His absence in the community of
Fox Harbour and in our homes has been deeply felt, but the love in our
hearts will continue beyond death.

As dad often said, "I'm pulling a Hank
Snow and I'm moving on.
