Joshua "Joshie"
Cochrane
February 9,
1981 – May 14, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we
announce the sudden passing of Joshua "Joshie" Cochrane on
May 14, 2026, in Conception Bay South, at the age of
45.
Joshie was a man known for his
hardworking hands, generous heart, and willingness to help anyone in
need. A skilled electrician, painter, plasterer, and true jack of all
trades, there was very little he could not do once he set his mind to
it. Whether it was fixing something for a neighbour, lending a hand to
family, or showing up when someone needed support, Joshie was always
the first to help without hesitation.
Above all else, Joshie loved the water.
An avid fisherman, his favorite days of the year were always the
opening days of winter and summer fishing seasons. He found peace on
the water, joy in the quiet mornings, and happiness in every cast.
Fishing was never just a hobby to him — it was where he felt
most at home.
Joshie leaves behind to mourn with
broken hearts his loving mother, Bernadette Cochrane (Perry); his
beloved sons, Hudson (Natasha) and Nash; his sisters, Jessica (Josh)
and Tammy (Randy); his brother, Timmy; Neice Alexis, Nephews Riley,
Carter, Ryder and Jordan, along with many extended family members
special cousins, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with
his kindness and laughter.
He was predeceased by his father,
Norman Cochrane, Grandparents Thresa and Jim Cochrane and Ella and
Albert Roche.
Though life brought its struggles,
Joshie faced them the best he could, and through it all he continued
to care deeply for the people around him. His strength, humor, and
helping spirit will never be forgotten.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to
Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation will take place
at Sacred Heart Church, St. Bride's on Sunday, May 17th.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place 2:00pm on Monday, May 18th at
Sacred Heart Church.
"The life of a fisherman
is simple and true,
With the
wind at his back and the pond in view.
Now the waters are calm, and the skies softly
gleam,
As Joshie sails
onward beyond every dream."
Forever loved, forever
missed.
