It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of Fergus Griffiths of Ship Harbour on Monday, May 18, 2026 at age 75.

 

A beloved husband, father and grandfather. Ferg leaves to mourn his wife, Catherine, son Fergie (Pamela), and two grandsons whom he adored, Jacob and Ethan.

 

Also leaving to mourn his special brothers Leo & Phonse, Jack, and Val (Ann), Ed and sister Theresa (John) as well as a large number of nieces and nephews.

 

Pre-deceased by parents, Elizabeth and John and siblings Patrick, Matilda, Mike, Rose, Eugene, Pius, Rebecca, Mary, Elizabeth and Germaine.

 

Ferg was a quiet and gentle man who was deeply rooted in the place he called home. He found joy in life's simple pleasures. He valued family above all and showed his love through actions, more than words. His quiet strength of caring for his cherished wife of 52 years will leave a lasting impression. 

 

Much appreciation to Cecil for always checking in with him and a very special thank you to friend Donna, as well as the staff of Placentia Hospital.

 

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia.  Visitation to take place on Wednesday, May 20th from 2:00pm to 9:00pm.  Funeral Service to take place 10:30am on Thursday, May 21st at St. Anne's Church, Dunville, followed by interment at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia.
